KKK in Orange County California

The OC weekly has been doing these very interesting articles on the history of the KKK in Orange County, California. I was born and raised in Orange and it is a great little town to be from, Its not often you get to be raised in a mayberry setting, a place where in summers you could ride your bikes around town and get into all type of adventures we would go swimming in the local fountains and explore the neighborhood and there was no danger everyone watched out for each other and everyone in town knew most people by name.My childhood was like the movie Now and Then and I am so grateful to have that to look back on. That is why I was so surprised and interested to hear about my town and about other neighboring towns dark past. Orange back in the late 1800 and to the mid 1900s was home to many Orange groves ,we had a Sunkist packing plant and the Sunkist Orange County Fruit Exchange Building that is still standing, Many Mexican American family's who live in Orange today have had families live in Orange for generations. It is a scary thought that people could judge people on the color of their skin or where they are from. I was raised a very open minded person and it is horrible that some people are raised with hate and hurt their own children and raise them with that same hate. Orange today is a very beautiful little town to visit. Not too many places like Orange on the west coast and most people are friendly allot of the family's have moved away over the years and it is now more of a college/party town or a place to go antique shopping and grab a bite to eat.  Here is OC WEEKLY LINK    http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/2011/07/rudolph_kroener_orange_filling_station.php
